Bluegrass Music Chicken Shack Style

Bluegrass Music Chicken Shack Style

Just up the road from my house a friend of mine has converted an old chicken house into a venue for bluegrass music. Every so often they will throw the doors open to everyone and invite musicians from far and wide to come and enjoy the night. Last night was just such a night. A huge cast iron pot of Brunswick stew along with a table with baked beans, slaw, bread, deserts, and drinks greeted you as you walk inside. The charge for all this? Nothing! Free to one and all. There were containers set up where one could donate as much as they were able to the cause so more of these events could be had. The Chicken Shack is located between Homer and Baldwin Georgia on Hwy. 441. It’s about 15 miles north of exit 149 on I-85 or 5 miles south of the Cornelia exit on I-985. I present for your enjoyment a few videos I shot of some of the entertainment last night. The last video is in the back of the shack of some of the musicians warming up to go on stage! The older gentleman playing the fiddle is 92 years young! Ok sorry but next time I will know to turn my phone side ways. :o) I will post the next event schedule on facebook.

till next time,
