Most of you are drinking, cooking and showering in water provided by some municipality. That means either chlorine, and or fluoride has been added to your water. For the municipality there is really no other choice. If they did not the water would make you sick very quickly and could even result in your death. Chlorinated water for drinking, bathing, and swimming breaks down into dioxins which are in the long term toxic and accumulate in the body tissues. Dioxins are a family of chemicals that have been characterized by the E.P.A. as likely human carcinogens.
OK I know many of you are only concerned with losing weight. Here is how chlorine can cause you to get fat. “Chlorine, fluoride, and iodine are chemically related. Chlorine and fluoride block iodine receptors in the thyroid gland, resulting in reduced iodine-containing hormone production and finally in hypothyroidism.” – James F. Balch, M.D. and Phyllis A. Balch, C.N.C. Your thyroid regulates metabolism and body heat. If your metabolism is slowed, and you continue to eat normally then your body weight will increase and you will get fat. It will also cause you to feel cold even when it is warm. You absorb most (67%) of the chlorine your body takes in in your shower, not in the water you drink or cook in.
Insufficient Thyroid Hormone causes bodily functions to slow down. The symptoms of Hypothyroidism are gradual and may be mistaken for depression, expressions become dull, the voice hoarse, slow speech, eyelids droop, the eyes and face become puffy and swollen. Many people will gain weight, become constipated and become unable to tolerate cold. The hair becomes dry, coarse, sparse, and thick. Many people will experience tingling and pain in their hands and you can develop Carpal Tunnel Syndrome. The palms of the hands and soles of the feet can become orange and the pulse can slow, eyebrows can fall out. Older people may appear confused, forgetful, or demented – signs that can easily be mistaken for Alzheimer’s Disease or other forms of dementia. Several animal studies and a single human study have suggested that chlorine in water may raise the level of blood cholesterol. All this can be caused from showering in, and drinking chlorinated water!
